What does teaching for Universify involve
We are looking for qualified teachers and university tutors to teach on the Easter and Summer residential elements of our programme.
We have a range of academic elements to our programme, which we are looking for teachers to deliver:
- Introductory classes to university subjects
- These 60-75 minute classes are aimed at giving students an introduction to what studying your subject at university would be like, or what style of thinking university requires. Past classes have included Plant Biology, exploring how we create life-saving medicines from the plants we find around the world and Philosophy classes examining moral philosophy and political theory.
- GCSE revision classes
- Help our students get the best grades possible in their GCSEs, boosting their attainment and their chances of applying to highly-selective universities. We are looking for GCSE teachers with experience of the current syllabus to deliver intensive revision classes in Maths, English and the Sciences on our GCSE revision weekend.
I have worked for Universify for two years, teaching the class on moral philosophy. My experience has been wholly positive. Not only have I found the programme to be very well run, it is also staffed by people who care about what Universify is trying to do. This makes a significant positive impact on the running of the individual classes and to the experience overall. I believe this impact is felt by both students and tutors…In addition to the positive experience working for Universify as a tutor, I’m also very happy to be involved in such an excellent initiative. Luke Davies, Moral Philosophy Tutor
